Introduction to Lighting with Mara Bodis-Wollner and Heather McDonough
Explore how to use studio lights and natural lighting to photograph people. We will work with lighting in the studio and provide hands-on use of the equipment to experiment and explore portrait studio lighting. We will cover the basics and there will be plenty of time to experiment to achieve the look you’re interested in.

Sequencing & Editing your Photographic Project
How to take your photographic project to the next level. We’ll explore the questions and self doubts that are so familiar: Who do I show it to? How do I complete it? Is this a book? is it an exhibition? Who is my audience, Do I need a writer? How can I exhibit this work? How can I get this published? Is my topic relevant/connected to a bigger topic?
Bring your project (as a series of 6 x 4 inch workprints or larger) to enable us to layout and edit your images. We will discuss each project in depth, sequence and edit your images, and we will help you to prepare an artist’s statement to accompany the work. This will be an intensive, immersive workshop involving your peer group with input from the Urbanlens team.
